Pricing and Ordering
Does the Monthly Price Apply to All Users Together or Per User?
The price depends on the number of active users in your company:
- For up to 5 users, you get access to Timebutler for €19 net per month (all users combined).
- For more than 5 and up to 39 users, you get access to Timebutler for €39 net per month (all users combined).
- For more than 39 users, you’ll pay €1.20 net per user per month.

You’ll only pay the amount listed in our pricing plan – no hidden fees. Every feature and service is available to all your users, and we don’t charge extra for setup. Plus, our support team is always here to help, free of charge. Timebutler has been trusted for over two decades and is now used by more than 350,000 people. Our pricing is not only sustainable but has proven its value over time. Because our users often recommend us, it allows us to keep our prices low and pass the savings directly on to you.
Do I need to actively renew my subscription?
It depends on when and how your agreement with Timebutler was made:
Automatic renewal (cancellation required):
If you’ve activated SEPA direct debit or your order was made or renewed after April 28, 2025, your subscription will automatically renew for the same period as before. In this case, you’ll need to cancel if you don’t want the automatic renewal.
No automatic renewal (active renewal required):
If your order was made before April 29, 2025, and you’re not using SEPA direct debit, your access will end automatically at the end of the current period. To continue using Timebutler, you’ll need to actively request a renewal in time.
Our tip: if you set up direct debit, you will benefit from uninterrupted use of the software and save time on tedious ordering processes.
What Are the Notice Periods?
Notice Period for Direct Debit
When setting up direct debit, you can choose a billing period of 1, 3, 6, or 12 months. You’re free to cancel at any time – no explanation needed. Your cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period, and no further payments will be charged after that.
Example 1: you have set up a direct debit with a one-month billing period. You can now cancel at any time until the end of the month. The direct debit for the current month will be processed, and no further direct debits will be processed after that.
Example 2: you have set up a direct debit with a 6-month billing period. In the first month, the direct debit will be collected for the next 6 months. If you cancel the direct debit in the fifth month, you can then continue using Timebutler for the remainder of the 6-month billing period.
You can cancel your subscription online at any time with just a few clicks in your user account under “My Account Balance.”
Termination for Other Payment Methods
If you selected a payment method other than direct debit, such as payment via invoice, PayPal, or credit card, you’re purchasing a subscription for a fixed period, such as 3, 6, or 12 months. If your order was made after April 28, 2025, the subscription will automatically renew for the same duration once the period ends.
If you don’t wish to have your subscription automatically renewed, you’ll need to cancel in advance. For orders made before April 29, 2025, no automatic renewal will take place.
What Happens When the Usage Period Expires?
End of the Usage Period for Direct Debit
Once you have set up a direct debit, your usage period will be automatically extended, ensuring that you can always work with the software without interruption.
If you cancel the direct debit, your usage period will automatically end at the end of the order period. Please note that refunds for unused time are not available. For example, if you purchase a 6-month plan but stop using the software after 5 months, the remaining month will not be refunded.
End of the Usage Period for Other Payment Methods
f you chose a payment method other than SEPA direct debit — such as invoice, PayPal, or credit card – you’re booking a fixed usage period (e.g. 3, 6, or 12 months). If your contract with Timebutler started after April 28, 2025, this period will automatically renew for the same duration, unless you cancel in time.
If you don’t wish to have your subscription automatically renewed, you’ll need to cancel in advance before the current period expires. For contracts signed before April 29, 2025, no automatic renewal will take place.
After the End of the Usage Period
After the usage period has expired, you can continue to log in and view, download, and print all your entries, settings, entries, and data. Your data belongs to you!
However, you will no longer be able to make changes, such as entering new entries, approving applications, or changing settings. Your user accounts and data are essentially frozen. If you decide to purchase a new usage period at a later date, your data will be reactivated, and you can continue working with the software seamlessly.
Will I Receive an Invoice?
Of course! You will receive a VAT invoice for every order or direct debit. You can conveniently download your invoices at any time from your account balance in your registered area.
You can also specify an email address that will automatically be notified of new invoices. This way, you can automatically send new invoices to your accounting colleagues, for example, without having to worry about it yourself.
Who Has Access to the Account Balance, Invoices, and Account Details?
Only administrators can view the account balance, access and download invoices, and request an extension/ cancellation of the usage period. Users with a different user type cannot view this information or request an extension of the usage period.
You can also specify an email address to which new invoices should be sent automatically.
What Payment Methods Are Available?
You can choose from a variety of payment methods, including convenient direct debit, PayPal, all major credit cards, Giropay, and payment on account. You can select your preferred payment method during the ordering process.
We currently only offer payment by direct debit in Germany; all other payment methods are also available internationally.
