FAQ: Download calendar view for Excel

In Timebutler, you can download almost all list views and reports as an Excel file with a single click on the Download button (or as a CSV file, the common data exchange format). However, you cannot download the calendar view as an Excel file, for the following reasons:

Excel is used to process data, for example by inserting formulas to calculate sums or averages. A calendar view in Excel is uncommon and does not display well. You also cannot perform calculations on a calendar view.

Transfer the calendar manually

If you still want to transfer the calendar view to Excel, you can do so with some know-how. This requires advanced skills: open the calendar view in Timebutler. Select the text in the calendar and copy it using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C.

Open Excel and click any cell (do not double-click; just single-click). Then paste the copied text using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V.

Excel fits the calendar text neatly into the different columns and rows, so you can now see the calendar view in Excel.

Alternative
You can print the calendar view to a PDF file.
