If an employee starts work and only later notices that they did not start the time clock, they have the following options:
1) Enter working time via the input form
If the admin has allowed employees or supervisors to [enter working time entries via the input form(/time-tracking/settings/entry-permissions-for-employees/), the user can [enter working time(/time-tracking/enter-working-hours/enter-working-hours-entry-form/).
2) Start the time clock later
1. Start the time clock later
When the employee notices that they forgot to start the time clock, they can start it right away. In the afternoon at the end of the workday, they stop the time clock. Stopping the time clock saves the working time entry with a start time that is later than the actual start time.
2. Edit entry
In the time clock window, a “Go to list view” link appears. The employee can click the link to go to the list view of working time entries. The new entry is at the top of the list. For that entry, they click the green button with the pencil (=Edit). They can now edit the start time.
3. Approve the change
In the [time tracking settings(/time-tracking/settings/time-tracking-settings/), the admin defines whether changes to the working time entry take effect immediately or require supervisor approval. If the change requires approval, the supervisor receives an email and can approve or reject the change with one click.
