Create user accounts

When you create the user accounts, Timebutler will send a welcome email with the personal login credentials to the employees. You should inform the employees about Timebutler before sending the welcome email so they don’t ignore or delete it.

Now create the user accounts for your colleagues. To do this, click “Employees” at the top left, then click “Create user account” below the small “Employees”. You now have two options:

Create a user account

By clicking “Create a user account” you can enter the details for a user account and thereby create a user account.

User data bulk import

By clicking the “Go to Excel import” button, you can automatically create a large number of user accounts via import. First, download the Excel template from Timebutler. It contains all required columns for user accounts, such as email address, first name, last name, department, working days per week, etc. Enter the employees’ data in the Excel sheet. Then upload the completed Excel file to Timebutler to create dozens or hundreds of user accounts with a single click.

Tip: If you have already stored the employee data in another system, you or your IT can likely export the data from the third-party system and paste it into the Excel file. This way you don’t have to enter the data manually, but can conveniently copy and paste it.

Read here how to [import user accounts with different working time models(/tips-and-tricks/settings-tips/import-users-with-different-working-time-models/).

Send welcome email

In both cases: You can enable or disable the option “Send welcome email with login credentials”.

If you enable the option, Timebutler automatically sends a welcome email to employees with the login credentials and makes sure employees sign in to Timebutler.

If you disable the option, no welcome emails will be sent. No emails will be sent to these users afterwards either, so you can set everything up in peace first. You can [send the welcome emails at a later time(/frequently-asked-questions/sign-in-and-sign-out/send-welcome-email/). Only after the user signs in to Timebutler for the first time will Timebutler send further emails to the user.
