FAQ: Split companies or locations

If your company already uses Timebutler and a part of the company is sold or split into different entities, it is often necessary to separate the employee data. The employees of the existing company should then continue to remain in one user group, while the employees of the divesting entity or the sold share of the company should be moved to their own, completely separate user group.

You cannot move some user accounts from one user group to a new, separate user group yourself; we can perform the migration for you.

To do this, schedule a date with us when the user accounts should be separated. We will coordinate all necessary details with you, including the list of employees to be moved. On the agreed date, we will take care of correctly migrating the employee accounts with all associated data, and from that moment on, the employees of the two entities will work separately from one another in their own user groups, but will continue seamlessly with all entries, settings, and data.
