You can subscribe to the Timebutler calendar in a third-party calendar such as Outlook, Google Calendar, and others. Vacation requests and absence entries from Timebutler then appear in your calendar and update automatically.
How to subscribe to the Timebutler calendar
-
Open the third-party calendar (Outlook, Google Calendar, etc.), switch to the calendar view, and open the function to subscribe to an internet calendar. The exact click path depends on the calendar and software version, so we cannot provide a detailed guide here.
-
The calendar software will ask for the subscription URL (also called the iCal URL, WebCal URL, or ICS URL). Sign in to your Timebutler user account and, below Your account, click Integration. Click the Sync with calendar button. On the following page, you can configure various settings for the calendar subscription. Choose the desired options and then click Show subscription link. Copy the subscription link that appears.
-
Switch back to the calendar software and paste the copied subscription link there.
-
The Timebutler calendar is now subscribed, and entries will synchronize automatically.
The third-party calendar (Outlook, Google Calendar, etc.) decides on its own when and how often it synchronizes with Timebutler. Third-party calendars usually do not offer a way to view or change this interval. It can therefore take from a few minutes up to several hours until changes in the Timebutler calendar also appear in your own calendar. You can always access the up-to-the-second view directly in Timebutler. Save the link to the Timebutler calendar view as a favorite in your browser to open it with a single click.
If the automatic update does not work, or if entries in the Timebutler calendar are not transferred to the third-party calendar, see solutions to problems with calendar synchronization.
If you use a newer version of Outlook and warning messages appear when Outlook updates the calendar, see information about warning messages during calendar synchronization with Outlook.
