Some users report a display issue in Timebutler. Individual terms appear to be incorrectly translated, or inappropriate phrasing and terms are used. This problem can occur when accessing Timebutler on a smartphone as well as on a laptop/PC or tablet. Often the issue only appears on one of the devices, not on the others.
Cause of the problem
The cause has always been the following:
The user has (accidentally) switched the language selection in Timebutler to a different language, and automatic translation of web pages is enabled in the browser on that device. As a result, Timebutler delivers the correct text in the selected language, but the browser attempts to translate the page. This often fails and leads to the described issue of inappropriate phrasing and terms appearing in Timebutler.
Solution steps
The incorrect display can be resolved as follows:
1) Change the language to the correct setting
Open Timebutler and change the language to your desired language. Read here how to select the display language.
2) Disable automatic translation
In the browser settings, you should disable the automatic translation of web pages — or at least disable it for Timebutler. This prevents the problem from recurring if you accidentally switch the language again.
Example of an incorrect translation
The English term “Calendar view” was incorrectly translated to “Kalender Sicht”, the button for the month “May” was translated as “Duerfen”, and “Today” was translated to “Am Tag”.
