In the [settings for the time tracking terminal(/time-tracking/settings/settings-for-the-time-tracking-terminal/), you can choose to display only employee initials instead of full names in the time tracking terminal. Especially if the tablet with the time tracking terminal is placed at the office entrance and there is heavy customer or supplier traffic, it’s advisable for data protection reasons to replace names with initials.
It’s common for two or more employees to share the same initials. Usually you don’t need to make any changes for employees with identical initials, for two reasons:
Tile always in the same place
The sort order of the tiles on the time tracking terminal is always the same. This means that once an employee has figured out which of the two identical-looking tiles is theirs, they will keep choosing the same tile in the future. They can easily check whether they have the right tile by tapping the tile and trying their PIN.
The tiles also have different colors, which greatly improves recognition.
Initials are completed automatically
In addition, Timebutler automatically appends the second letter of the first name to the initials if there are two tiles with the same initials. In most cases, this makes the initials unambiguous.
