You can define custom holidays in Timebutler and group them into Holiday sets.
Predefined Holiday sets, with regions, are already available for:
- Germany (federal states)
- Austria
- Switzerland
- United Kingdom
- United States
- Andorra
- Belgium
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Czech Republic
- Vatican City
- Montenegro
- Denmark
- Spain
- France
- Croatia
- Italy
- Liechtenstein

- Albania

For additional countries, you can create your own Holiday calendars. There is also the option of having no holiday set configured.
Create a Holiday Calendar for a New Country
The following example shows how to create a Holiday calendar for Ireland:
Step 1: Identify Relevant Holidays
First, determine which holidays apply in the selected country.
You can:
- Research public holidays online
- Consult local colleagues at your company location
Step 2: Create Missing Holidays
- Log in to Timebutler as an Admin.
- Go to Settings > More… > Holidays.
Timebutler already provides many holidays, including automatically calculated variable holidays such as:
- Easter Monday
- Good Friday
If a required holiday is missing (for example, a national holiday), create it manually:
- Click New holiday.
- Enter the holiday details (for example, name and date).
- Save the holiday.
Example:
- St. Patrick’s Day (March 17, every year)
Repeat this step for all missing holidays.
Step 3: Create a Holiday Calendar
- Go to Settings > More… > Holiday Set.
- Click Create new holiday calendar.
- Enter a name (for example, Holidays Ireland).
Step 4: Assign Holidays to the Holiday Calendar
- Select all holidays that apply to the country.
- Activate them by selecting them in the list.
- Click Save.
Step 5: Assign the Holiday Calendar to Employees
After saving, you can assign the Holiday calendar to employees.
- Assign it immediately, or
- Assign it later to user accounts
Repeat for Additional Countries
To create Holiday calendars for other countries, repeat the steps above for each country.
