FAQ: Break rules for night shifts

When an employee records their working time with the time clock and does not stop the time clock at the end of their shift, it is automatically stopped at midnight. For night shifts, you can adjust the “Stop time clock at midnight” option in the time tracking settings.

Break rules are not applied

Break rules are applied only to calendar days. They do not work for shifts that extend past midnight, because it is not possible to unambiguously assign break rules to working time spanning multiple calendar days.

Important: For night shifts, break rules cannot be applied automatically, and therefore no breaks are added automatically. Employees working night shifts should always clock their breaks themselves.
