Break policies ensure that your employees record working times in line with minimum break requirements. Select a break policy and Timebutler ensures that minimum breaks are met and the maximum working time per calendar day is not exceeded.
Set a break policy for all employees
Sign in to Timebutler as an admin and click “Settings > More..” at the bottom left, then “Time tracking” on the right. Under the “Break policy” option, select the policy that suits you. Click the blue “Save” button at the bottom.
Set a different break policy for individual employees
In addition to the global break policy above, you can set a different break policy for individual employees or disable it. Learn here how to [assign a break policy to an employee(/time-tracking/break-rules/assign-break-policy-to-employees/) individually.
Set a different break policy for multiple employees
If you want to change the break policy for multiple employees, changing it in each individual user account would be time-consuming. Instead, you can update many employees at once with the [bulk change of working time models(/time-tracking/working-time-models/bulk-change-of-working-time-models/).

Choice for the break policy
You can define whether applying break policies is mandatory, or whether employees should have a [choice(/time-tracking/break-rules/choice-for-the-break-policy/) on whether to apply the break policy or not.
