If an employee forgets to clock working time and only notices the next day or later, they have the following options:
1) Enter time via the input form
If the admin allows employees or managers to enter [time entries via the input form(/time-tracking/settings/entry-permissions-for-employees/), the user can [enter time(/time-tracking/enter-working-hours/enter-working-hours-entry-form/).
If the admin does not allow employees or managers to enter [time entries via the input form(/time-tracking/settings/entry-permissions-for-employees/), there are the following two options.
2) Create an entry via the time clock
1. Create a time entry
The employee starts the time clock and stops it again after 1 minute (time entries must contain at least 1 minute, otherwise they cannot be saved). This creates a 1-minute time entry.
2. Make a change
In the time clock window, a link “Go to list view” is displayed. The employee can click the link to go to the list view of time entries. The new 1-minute entry appears at the top of the list. For that entry, they click the green button with the pencil icon (=Edit). They can now set the desired date, for example the previous day, and the desired start and end time. In the Note field, they can enter “Correction, forgot to clock yesterday” if desired.
3. Manager approves the change
The [time tracking settings(/time-tracking/settings/time-tracking-settings/) define whether changes to the time entry take effect immediately or require manager approval. If the change requires approval, the manager receives an email and can approve or reject it with one click.
This creates the time entry for the desired day with the desired start / end times.
3) Employee informs manager or admin
The employee informs their manager or admin about the missing time entry. They can [enter the time(/time-tracking/enter-working-hours/enter-working-hours-entry-form/) for the employee.
