Setup times

With setup times, you can set a specific number of minutes for employees that should be subtracted from or added to working time.

If, for example, employees start the time clock and then first have to put on their work clothes, and you do not want to count this changing time as working time, you can configure a deduction via setup times. Timebutler then subtracts this time from the working time entries.

If, on the other hand, changing into work clothes counts as working time but employees can only start the time clock afterwards, you can use setup times to automatically increase the working time.

Timebutler only applies the setup time deduction or increase on calendar days with at least one working time entry. If there are multiple working time entries on a workday, Timebutler still applies setup times only once, not multiple times.

Configure setup times

You can view or change the setup time setting by signing in to Timebutler as an admin, then clicking “Settings > Workdays” at the bottom left. In the far-right column, you see the setup time setting for the employee under “Setup times”. To edit the setting, click the blue “Edit” button for the desired employee.

If you want to set or change setup times for many employees, you can conveniently do that via the [bulk change of working time models(/time-tracking/working-time-models/bulk-change-of-working-time-models/).

You can also view setup times in the [user account detail view(/users-and-permissions/permissions/overview-in-the-user-account-detail-view/).

Setup times in the working time account

The deduction or increase of working time due to setup times appears in the [working time account in the “Overtime balance as of the cutoff date” view(/time-tracking/working-time-account/overtime-balance-as-of-the-cut-off-date/).
