Restrict time tracking to departments or employees

You can enable time tracking for all employees in the company or only for individual departments. You can also enable or disable time tracking for individual employees.

Limit time tracking to departments

Sign in to Timebutler as an admin and click “Settings > More..” at the bottom left, then click “Time tracking” on the right. At the second option “Limit to departments” you can restrict time tracking to specific departments. Then save the changes by clicking the blue “Save” button at the very bottom of the page.

Configure time tracking for employees individually

If you want to enable or disable time tracking for individual employees, click “Employees” at the top left, then below the small “Employees” click “Overview”. In the row of the desired user account, click the green icon with the pencil (=Edit). At the top, under the option “Time tracking active?” set the desired option. Save the change by clicking the blue “Save” button at the very bottom of the page.

Supervisors and trust-based working time
