Record and display break times

As an admin, you can specify that the start and end times of breaks are also recorded when working time is recorded via the time clock in the user account or the time recording terminal. You can also enable entering the start and end times of breaks when entering working time via the entry form.

Enable recording of break times

So that you can record and enter break times, make sure the appropriate options are enabled:

Break times with the time clock and the time recording terminal Log in to Timebutler as an admin and click Settings > More… at the bottom left. On the right, click the Time tracking heading. Check or change the Record breaks with time option and click the blue Save button at the bottom.

Break times when entering working time via the entry form Log in to Timebutler as an admin and click Settings > More… at the bottom left. On the right, click the Time tracking heading. Check or change the Enter break times option and click the blue Save button at the bottom.

The Enter break times option is only visible if you select one of the two lower settings for the Input type option.

Retrieve the break times of a time entry

You can see the detailed break times of a time entry in the edit history in the detail view of a time entry.

Retrieve break times for multiple time entries

You find the break times for multiple time entries in the utilization report.

Log in to Timebutler as an admin and click Reports > Utilization report on the left. Select the Report type: List view on a daily basis option. In the List view option, enable Also output working times and, below that, Output details for each time entry. Then click the blue Show button.

The details for each time entry (start/end of the time entry, start/end of the breaks) appear in the last columns on the right of the report.

You can also download the report as an Excel or CSV file by clicking the corresponding button.

Note: Timebutler only outputs the start and end of time entries and the start and end of breaks if the options for entering/recording these times are enabled. For this, the Input type, Enter break times, and Record breaks with time options must be set accordingly in the time tracking settings.
