Assign break policy to employees

You can [set a default break policy(/time-tracking/break-rules/set-up-break-policies/) that applies to all employees unless you set a different option for an employee.

You can deviate from this for individual employees by setting a different break policy or disabling it. This is useful, for example, if you have enabled the break policy for employees and have vocational students or trainees for whom you need to set the break policy for employees under 18.

Follow these steps:

Set break policy individually for one employee

Sign in to Timebutler as an admin, click “Employees” at the top left, then “Overview” below the small “Employees”. Click the green icon with the pencil (=Edit) in the row of the desired user account.

Change the “Break policy” option and then click the blue “Save” button at the very bottom of the page.

Change break policy for multiple employees

If you want to change the break policy for multiple employees, changing each user account individually would be time-consuming. Instead, you can edit many employees at once with the [bulk edit of working time models(/time-tracking/working-time-models/bulk-change-of-working-time-models/).
