Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

To enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), sign in to your Timebutler user account and click Settings in the bottom left, then Security beneath it. Now click the Set up 2FA button.

Prerequisite: Authenticator app on your smartphone

When you enable 2FA, you will need to enter a 2FA verification code in addition to your username and password each time you sign in. The 2FA verification code is personal, remains valid for 30 seconds, and is then regenerated. To view the code, you need to install an authenticator app (also called a 2FA app) on your smartphone. You can use any authenticator app from any provider — Timebutler’s 2FA follows the industry standard and supports all common authenticator apps.

If you have not yet installed an authenticator app on your smartphone, you will receive suggestions for suitable apps during the 2FA setup process.

Important: Once you have enabled 2FA in Timebutler and paired it with the authenticator app on your smartphone, you can only sign in to your Timebutler user account if you have access to that authenticator app. Make sure you do not lose access to it.
