With the [Break policies(/time-tracking/break-rules/set-up-break-policies/) you define the minimum breaks for certain working times and the maximum daily working time.
The admin can define which choices users have for the break policy. To do this, log in to Timebutler as an admin and click at the bottom left “Settings > More..”, then on the right “Time tracking”.
Here you find the setting “Choice for the break policy” with the following options:
If a user enters a working time entry that violates the requirements of the break policy that applies to them, Timebutler shows the following depending on the “Choice for the break policy” setting:
1) Allow choice
Option: The user can choose whether they want to accept the changes to the working time entry or save the working time entry without changes.
Timebutler shows a warning message and a suggestion to adjust the working time to meet the break policy requirements. The user can then either accept the necessary adjustment and let Timebutler change the entry automatically, or reject the necessary adjustment and Timebutler saves the working time entry in violation of the break policy requirements.
2) Adjustments must be confirmed
Option: The user can only save the working time entry if they accept the proposed changes to the working time entry.
Timebutler shows an error message and a suggestion to adjust the working time to meet the break policy requirements. The user must accept the change to save the working time entry. If they reject the change, Timebutler does not save the working time entry.
3) Apply adjustments automatically
Option: If changes to the working time entry are necessary, Timebutler applies and saves them automatically. The user cannot/does not have to confirm the changes.
Timebutler does not show any warning or error message, but adjusts the working time entry automatically to meet the break policy requirements. Afterwards, Timebutler only informs the user about the automatic change.
The setting for the choice for the break policy applies equally to all employees and you cannot configure it differently for different employees.
