An admin can set the earliest start time in time tracking.
Set the earliest start time
Sign in to Timebutler as an admin and click bottom left on “Settings > More..”, then on the right on “Time tracking”. Configure the “Earliest start time” option and click the blue “Save” button at the bottom.
Set the earliest start time for employees individually
With the setting above, you define the earliest start time that should apply to all employees. You can still set the earliest start time individually for employees. To do this, sign in to Timebutler as an admin and click top left on “Employees > Employees > Overview”. For the desired employee, click the green button with the pencil (=Edit). Set the option “Earliest start time (time tracking)” and click the blue “Save” button at the bottom.

Entering time entries
Employees can no longer enter time with a start time before the earliest start time in the entry form for new time entries.
Time clock
If an employee starts the time clock before the earliest start time, they see that the time clock start is queued. A countdown appears so the employee knows when the time clock will start. Exactly at the earliest start time, the time clock starts automatically.
If an employee arrives before the earliest start time, they can already clock in and later, at the start time, they do not need to open the time clock again.
In the time clock, the employee can see when the time clock will start automatically:
Allow overriding the earliest start time restriction
Admins can enter time entries that violate the earliest start time, but they are informed beforehand.
For employee users and supervisors, you can allow them under certain conditions to override the earliest start time restriction as well. To do this, sign in to Timebutler as an admin and click bottom left on “Settings > More..”, then on the right on “Time tracking”. Configure the “Override earliest start time” option and click the blue “Save” button at the bottom.
Effect of the earliest start time on existing time entries
Changing the earliest start time does not affect existing time entries. So existing time entries stay the same regardless of the change to the earliest start time and are not modified.
When you change the earliest start time, the change only affects time entries that are entered or recorded after the time of the change.
